Monjasa Oil & Shipping Trainee, Athens
Ready for a career that takes you on an international adventure in the oil and shipping industry? Can you picture yourself gaining hands-on experience from day one and playing a role in the movement of the world’s fleet and advancing global trade?
What does it mean to be a trainee with us?
You will become part of a global two-year programme that offers valuable insights into how we fuel global trade. You will be able to apply your learning right from the start, and you will gain further shipping knowledge through Danish Shipping Education with the Danish Shipping Academy and other internal sessions with our own Monjasa Academy.
Buckle up for global rotations (2 x 1,5 months) across our offices such as Singapore, China, Japan, Greece, UAE, Denmark, New York or Panama. This will give you firsthand experiences and understanding of different business contexts and cultures. In every office, we have an inclusive environment that oozes team spirit and a multi-cultural vibe. We truly value our time together, also beyond work. All of this will give you a feeling of being home away from home during your rotations.
Your journey begins in your home office in 3 August 2026 and unfolds shortly after with a kick-off journey in Denmark.
Your daily tasks
- Support our trading floor in all aspects of the trader role also including sales activities
- Research potential customers and markets
- Keep an eye on oil prices and share insights with stakeholders
- Support the sourcing team with purchasing fuel
What can you contribute with?
- You enjoy building relations, and you are not afraid of challenging the status quo
- You have a relevant educational background, such as a bachelor’s degree, college education or similar, with extracurricular experiences from travel, work, living abroad or similar
- You are good at communicating in both verbal and written English, and if you speak another language, shout it out!
- You consider yourself energetic and a good team player.
- Prior shipping knowledge is not a requirement.
Ready to set sail?
You are free to apply to several Monjasa locations, but please submit only one application. You will be able to select your preferred locations in the application form. You will also be asked to upload a short video introduction of yourself. We will guide you through every step of the process.
After the application deadline, we will select candidates to invite for a recruitment event at our office in Athens on 20 April 2026. After the event, we will invite the candidates with the best fit for a personal interview on 22/23 April 2026. If you have shown interest in more than one location, you will be invited to the event closest to your home.
